Kim is the newest member of our team and joined New York Life Insurance Company and Brakke Financial Services in the fall of 2023. Originally from Edina, MN, Kim moved to Pierre, SD after graduating from the University of Minnesota in 2002. Kim joins our team after working in the Senior Living industry for the past 8 years. During that time, she worked directly with seniors and their loved ones as they navigated through the Long Term Care process. Those experiences helped her develop a passion and unique perspective for helping families prepare for their future. Making a difference and community involvement is a focus for Kim. Over the years, she has been involved with Junior Achievement of South Dakota as a classroom volunteer, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Capital Area Board of Directors, Pierre Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, the South Dakota Discovery Center Board of Directors, multiple Lutheran Memorial Church committees, and was a Girl Scouts leader for 12 years. Kim and her husband Matt served as Co-Chairs of the 2023 Inaugural, and Chairs of the 2025 Inaugural. Kim is also passionate about placing high school foreign exchange students with families in the community for an academic year, as well as hosting their own exchange students from all over the world.

Outside of work, Kim loves house projects, traveling (while always planning the next getaway), board & card games, and spending time with friends and family. Kim is married to Matt, they have 3 daughters, Madilyn, Claire and Charlotte, along with Gus, Standard Poodle.
